Sausage rolls containing bits of METAL recalled by Tesco, Aldi and Nisa

Sausage rolls and pies sold at Tesco, Aldi and Nisa supermarkets have been pulled from shelves - because they  may contain small pieces of metal wire.

Customers who have bought any of the products are being told not to eat them, and to return them straight away.

The Food Standards Agency released a statement urgently warning consumers about the issue, which affects food items made by the Addo Food Group, across the UK.

Sausage rolls, pasties, and own-brand pies with use-by dates between June 4 and 12 are at risk of contamination.

A statement from the FSA read: "Addo Food Group is recalling batches of chilled pastry products, including sausage rolls, pasties, pastry pies and slices because of potential contamination with small pieces of metal wire.

"The products affected are own branded products produced for Aldi, Nisa, and Tesco and branded products produced under the Walls and Millers brands."
