Video: ‘Dulux’ dog Aslan visits Carrickfergus

Visitors at the Carrick branch of JP Corry got a special treat this morning thanks to a furry friend.

Old English sheepdog Aslan - also known as the ‘Dulux’ dog - was on hand to greet customers and local primary school pupils.

The seven-year-old pooch travels all over the country as mascot for the well-known paint brand, explained owner Fiona Mullen.

“He’s been doing this sort of work for about six and a half years; we just had a really busy weekend with him at the Balmoral Show and he has Crufts coming up as well,” added Fiona, from County Longford.

“He was even supposed to meet Obama in Moneygall [County Offaly] when he was there in 2011, but they thought it might take the attention away from the President!”
