M5 motorway to be closed for repair works

Motorists are advised that the M5 motorway southbound will be closed overnight for carriageway repairs.

The road closure, which will commence at 11pm tonight (Wednesday), will operate from Rush Park Roundabout to the M2 southbound.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required overnight only for carriageway repairs.

“An alternative route is Rush Park Roundabout - A2 Shore Road - A2 York Road - Dock Street - Nelson Street.”

The work is being carried out by a DfI Roads contractor.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is set to be completed by 6am on Thursday, March 11.
