The organiser of a charity swim in memory of a Whitehead schoolgirl has expressed delight at the level of support for the fundraiser.
The New Year’s Day dip at County Antrim Yacht Club will next month merge with a similar venture at Brown’s Bay.
The Whitehead group will be raising funds for the NI Children’s Hospice in memory of Erin Bonar.
A pupil at Whitehead Primary School, Erin passed away suddenly earlier this year.
The five-year-old’s organs were donated, saving the lives of four other people.
This in turn inspired the ‘superhero’ theme for the fundraiser.
Organiser Maria Jones said: “We have so many joining us, as well as messaging me about donating for the raffle.”
