Carrickfergus PUP representative Gareth Cole has issued an appeal for the peaceful resolution of the paramilitary feud in the town.
In a statement issued on social media, Mr Cole said that the “heavy police presence” was leaving people “scared and frustrated.”
“It is time now for those involved to have some cool reflection of community needs and bring this to a peaceful end so people can get on with their daily lives,” he stated.
“For myself living in Carrick and working in the community, I will be first to tell people of the positive, hard work by residents of Castlemara and Glenfield.
“My appeal goes directly to those who can draw a close to the harm being caused to the community and bring about a positive conclusion.”
