Taking part in a protest against proposed cuts to library branches were Pat Lawlor, Grainne Wallace, Nicola Smith, Lee Robb, William Bell, Conor Sheridan, Janet Davidson and Jane Robb.
A petition against the cuts has gathered almost 500 signatures in Carrick; it will be presented to Communities Minister Paul Givan next month.
Carrickfergus and 13 other branches are threatened with having their opening hours reduced by up to five hours per week.
The Hands Off Our Libraries campaign was initiated by Labour Alternative and is supported by local trades councils and other anti-austerity groups.
NI Libraries said if additional funding is made available, it will be used to minimise the reduction.
