Progress on work to keep Carrick tidy

East Antrim DUP has reported progress in a number of issues raised during canvassing for the recent Carrick Castle ward by-election.

Deputy mayor Clllr. Cheryl Johnston has reported that Loughview Village has been added to the weed spraying schedule and will be “seeing more of the road sweepers”.

Cllr. Johnston has also indicated that Skelton Closehas already been sprayed for weeds and the contractors have been instructed to spray the area again.

Cllr. Johnston said that she has also raised concerns over road sweeping at Rhanbuoy Close and has underlined the need for the full road to be swept.

She also noted that with regard to concerns at Coronation Crescent, trees to the rear of Victoria Primary School have been cut back and tidied.

Cllr. Johnston also highlighted work that has been earmarked to be carried out at Fergus Court in the Sunnylands estate.

She stated that trees and hedges will be cut back after complaints that they were blocking light for properties in the area.
