A Carrickfergus school teacher has seen £1,000 slip from his grasp at the start of new academic year.

The grand act occurred while staff from Carrickfergus College took part in training.

But as the school explained in a statement, it was all part of the programme: “LeonEdu led the training and staff attended a number of different workshops. The highlight of the two-day event was a session with the BBC’s David Meade. Meade, a mind reader extraordinaire, even managed to trick the very able Mr Simpson out of the £1000 cheque he was promised!

“A very entertaining time for all and definitely a good way to start the year!”
