UKIP Councillor Noel Jordan has commended Mid and East Antrim District Council officers who “have worked tirelessly” to help the new local government authority strike as low a rate as possible.
He was speaking after the super council which takes in Larne, Carrickfergus and Ballymena, struck its first rate at below the annual rate of inflation.
The Carrick Castle representative added: “Let’s hope that the money available will provide, maintain and continue the services and facilities in our respective towns. Only time will tell.
“UKIP will strive with the support of the members in this chamber to provide opportunities, protect services and improve facilities for the benefit of all our citizens and their well being.”
