'Joint operation' sees 41 cars clamped in Carrick

A total of 41 cars were clamped in one day as part of a joint operation in Carrickfergus, police have said.

A post that appeared on the PSNI Carrickfergus Facebook page yesterday read: "Police in Carrickfergus have been involved in a joint operation with DVLA today, targeting untaxed vehicles on our roads.

"As a result two vehicles were seized, 41 were clamped and 11 fixed penalties were issued. Several other vehicles were issued fixed penalties in addition to this for no vehicle test certificate."

The majority of the cars were in the Greenisland, Loughshore, Belfast Road, and Taylor's Avenue area, a police spokesperson added.
