A ‘pop-up’ enterprise based in Carrickfergus is on the lookout for local food and drink producers as its launches a new farmer’s market.

The Pop-Up Emporium was established in 2015 to allow the communities of Carrickfergus and its surrounding towns to buy artisan handcrafted goods and locally produced gourmet food all under the one roof, while helping local producers to find and interact directly with their customers.

From March onwards the Emporium will be including a farmers’ market area in its monthly activities in Flame Gasworks Museum, with traders of seasonal fresh produce, meat, poultry, game and dairy being sought to join the existing artisan craftspeople who trade monthly on the historic site.

The first farmers’ market will be held this Saturday (March 5) and on the second Saturday every month from April onwards. It is open to the public between 11.00am and 4.00pm, with free on-site parking and free admission.
