Equipment failure blamed for Carrick power cut

Fifty homes in the Dunluskin area of Carrick remain without power this afternoon.

Northern Ireland Electricity says that the loss of supply is due to equipment failure.

The company has indicated that it has located the source of the fault on the network and will be carrying out repairs as soon as possible.

Initially, power was expected to have been restored to customers by approximately 11.15am this morning.

The outtage occurred at 8.09 am.
