Place in semi-final for Carrick Grammar choir

Carrickfergus Grammar has won a place in the semi-finals of the Northern Ireland BBC School Choir of the Year.

Sixty-three choirs are competing for a place in the final of the prestigious contest.

Carrickfergus Grammar won the heat which was broadcast yesterday (Sunday) on BBC Radio Ulster.

The final which will take place at the Ulster Hall, Belfast, on Sunday April 7, will be recorded for the first time for BBC Northern Ireland television.

Carrickfergus Grammar will be competing in the senior category against Friends School, Lisburn; St Ciaran’s College, Ballygawley; Lurgan College and Campbell College, Belfast.
