A Greenisland councillor has called on residents to dispose of glass carefully after a dog sustained injury.
Mid and East Antrim Council member Paul Sinclair said: “I would like to express concern over broken glass in the area. As it turns out I was recently talking to a responsible dog owner in Greenisland. Unfortunately he had to take his wee dog to the vet following an incident with some broken glass which was left on the road.
“Although his pet is well on the road to recovery clearly this incident was very upsetting for the dog and owner.
Surely whoever left the broken glass on the street would now regret any injury and cost incurred?
“Coming up to the summer holiday period I would appeal to all citizens to make sure that glass bottles, etc are disposed of responsibly. Let’s make Mid And East Antrim a dog friendly and people friendly borough.”
