Unemployment in Carrickfergus has decreased by 33 people over the past month, according to figures from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment.
There are now 835 claimants in the borough; of these 592 are male and 243 female. This represents a change of -245 over the year.
Commenting on the figures, East Antrim MLA Alastair Ross said they “show that the economy in Northern Ireland continues to grow stronger, with unemployment down and the number of employee jobs rising”
He added: “Despite this, it is important that we continue to do all that we can to make Northern Ireland an attractive and easy place to do business, encourage employers to expand and take on more staff and support people who wish to upskill.”
