Security alert now over in Carrickfergus
The security alert in the Hawthorn Avenue area of Carrickfergus has now ended, the PSNI has said.

Police attended the report of a suspicious object in the area yesterday evening (Sunday).
A number of homes were evacuated and cordons put in place, with the alert ongoing as of this morning.
However, nothing untoward was located.
Inspector Michelle Adams said: “Residents have now returned to their homes, and I am keen to thank those who were inconvenienced for their patience and understanding.”
