Property damaged by malicious fire

Police are appealing for information following a blaze in Carrickfergus this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 8.30am in the Fergus Avenue area of the town.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a small fire lit in the vicinity of Fergus Avenue, Carrickfergus this morning which ultimately damaged property.

“Police are treating this as malicious criminal damage and undertaking an investigation into the matter.

“The incident took place at approximately 8.30am on Thursday, May 31 and we would be keen to hear from anyone if they have any information that may assist in the investigation by contacting 101 and quote serial number 410 of May 31.”
