Police are appealing for information after life rings were removed from their stations over the weekend.
Detailing the incident in a post on social media on November 16, a police spokesperson said: “Sometime between Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11, some very sensible and caring person or persons thought it wise to remove and steal two life rings from the Marine Highway in Carrickfergus.
“The cost to replace isn’t really the problem here. The cost of someone’s life being lost because this life-saving equipment has been removed -there are no words!!!!
“If you have any information that will help us find those responsible, please contact Constable Wells in Larne station.”
