Pedestrian struck by car at zebra crossing

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Carrickfergus.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle whilst on the zebra crossing at Tesco, Carrickfergus.

“The incident occurred at apprroximately 6pm/6.30pm on November 26. This car was possibly silver.

“If you witnessed this, or have any information regarding it, please contact police on 101, quoting reference 1212 from 26/11/2018.”

Urging anyone with information to contact the police, East Antrim UUP MLA John Stewart said: “This is a concerning and alarming incident and no doubt the pedestrian must be very shaken up following it.

“Hopefully a witness or CCTV will help the police identify whoever is responsible. If you have any information, please contact police on 101.”
