Greenisland home of woman in her 90s is ransacked by thieves

Burglars have ransacked the home of a woman in her 90s at Upper Road, Greenisland.

Detectives are appealing for information following the incident, which was reported to police at around 6.30pm yesterday (Friday).

PSNI Detective Constable Gardiner said: “A report was received that entry had been gained to the home. The house was ransacked, and cash, medication and a number of items of jewellery were reported to have been taken.”

The officer said that an investigation has been launched and police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Police are seeking help from the public.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area from between 1-3pm yesterday afternoon.
