Covid penalties issued across Mid and East Antrim

Police have provided an update on the number of enforcement notices that have been served across Mid and East Antrim during the coronavirus pandemic.

Figures for the borough from the PSNI show 100 COV1 penalty notices were issued between March 2020 and January 17 2021.

In the same period, officers have also served a total of 58 COV2 notices - 10 prohibition notices to licensed premises and 48 for restriction of gatherings in a private dwelling.

Furthermore, there were four COV3 enforcements (£1,000 fine) for failure to isolate.

Following the replacement of COV1 with COV4 (with fines starting at £200), 92 penalty notices have been issued, while six COV5 penalty notices have been issued to a business and/or premises for breach of the regulations (starting at £1,000 to a max of £10,000).

The latest figures also include 112 Community Resolution Notices.
