Police are investigating after a push bike was stolen from the Davys Street area on Wednesday, November 7.

Appealing for information following the early-morning incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Believe it or not, lives actually depend on this bike. It’s owned by a part-time firefighter who relies on it to get to the fire station when there is a call.

“If he is delayed in getting to the station and there aren’t enough crew members then the fire engine can’t go anywhere!

“We would like anyone with information on this bicycle to give us a call, or perhaps it could magically reappear in Davys Street in the cover of darkness! Either way, the entire community needs it back.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident reference number 981 07/11/18.
