The PSNI have appealed for information following a security alert in Carrickfergus over the weekend.

Officers were called to The Hollies area of the town on Friday night, November 1, following a report of a suspicious object.

ATO attended the scene and declared the object a hoax.

Sergeant Lowry said: "I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in The Hollies area or anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 2156 of 01/11/19.

"Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100 percent anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
