Councillor Paul Sinclair has appealed for no repeat of an incident which saw grass cuttings strewn around a children’s play area in Greenisland.
The Mid and East Antrim Council representative said he was recently surprised to see the Knockleigh facility “covered in clumps of grass”.
“The grass near the play park had recently been cut and unfortunately it looked if someone had trailed the fresh grass cuttings into the park. This is, of course very dangerous as the grass could have been fouled on by dogs and carry disease,” stated Councillor Sinclair.
“As a concerned parent and local councillor I did what many in the community would do, and went home to get a brush to clean up the mess.
“As a council we are supporting the Live Here, Love Here campaign to keep Northern Ireland beautiful and I hope that this incident will not be repeated.”
