An extensive multi-agency search, including the Mountain Rescue Team, was launched on Wednesday evening along the river after she was reported missing to the police.

Neighbours have paid tribute to the deceased saying that her death has left the community heart-broken.

It is understood that she had been suffering from health problems for some time.

“This has shocked the local community, especially everyone who knew the family”, said a neighbour. “Our hearts go out to her sons and daughters at this difficult time. She was a vulnerable person, and had been struggling with health problems.”

Her grief stricken family have appealed for privacy through Facebook, with family flowers only at the funeral and donations to charity. Condolences have flooded in through social media.

A PSNI spokesperson has confirmed that the body of a female was recovered and said that a crime was not suspected.
