A community fun day at Christchurch in Carrickfergus turned out to be a “great success”, organisers have said.
A range of family-friendly activities were on offer during the event, which took place at the Oakfield Drive venue earlier this month.
“ The sun was out, the barbecue was turned up full and the aroma of cooking burgers and hotdogs were bringing in the people,” a spokesperson for the church said.
“ We used this opportunity for not just fund raising but more importantly outreach into the surrounding communities and also to add a bit of fun and fellowship to all who attend. “
For the younger visitors, there was a bouncy castle and other activities including firm favourite the wet sponge throw, face painting, lucky dip and sports day races.
“For the adults we had tea, coffee and a variety of delicious cream cakes and cupcakes to choose from,” the spokesperson added.
“The turn out for our car boot sale which we have been holding for many years was yet again a great one.
“We would like to thank all who attended of the day, all who helped make it possible and we look forward to next year to do it all over again.”
Meanwhile, a number of groups at the church are due to reopen in the coming weeks.
The Men’s Group will begin again on Tuesday, September 1 at 2pm.
ABC Tots will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 at 10am.
Prayer, Praise and Fellowship will start up on Wednesday, September 2 at 7.45pm.
