Carrickfergus College pupils have been putting their journalism skills to the test in the BBC School Report challenge.
The year 11 Media Studies class spent a morning involved in editorial meetings, interviews, vox pops and writing, all in preparation for a 2.00pm podcast news bulletin.
Highlights included being featured on the BBC NI website and recording the weather bulletin, according to a statement from the college.
BBC School Report gives 11-16 year-old students the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience.
Carrickfergus College, which has been involved in the project for the last four years, explained: “It allows the pupils to see what the average day in the life of a journalist might be like and in turn allows them to make educated choices in terms of career paths.
“All of the stories written by the pupils can be accessed via the school website. Well done to all involved.”
