Oakfield Primary School has scooped first prize in Carrickfergus Road Safety Committee’s annual road safety quiz.

The team of Poppy Walker, Kathryn Howard, Abby Green and Emma Smyth held off stiff competition from six other local primary schools to triumph.

The event was co-ordinated by Isobel Day, Road Safety Committee and PSNI Constable David Maguire.

The trophy was presented to the Oakfield team by the Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Councillor Timothy Gaston.

Oakfield principal George McCluskey commented on how well the team had worked together and he praised them for their excellent knowledge of road safety matters.
