Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland has received a funding boost from Carrickfergus College.

The charity was one of the school’s two sponsored charities last year and the money raised will go towards its work in developing countries and projects closer to home.

Members of the school’s year 10 charity committee were on hand to hand over the cheque to Victoria Trimble from Habitat for Humanity.

A movement of the Christian faith, Habitat’s vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live and housing poverty and homelessness are eliminated.

The money was raised through a number of schemes run last year including non-uniform days and house competitions within Carrickfergus College.
