Commenting on the scheme, Ulster Unionist MLA John Stewart said: “I am pleased to say that following much lobbying and many complaints to DFI

Roads Service about potholes and surface damage on the New Line, they have now announced that they will be carrying out resurfacing works starting next week.

“As you know, roads across East Antrim, and Northern Ireland in general, are in a bad state of repair. This is due both to longterm under-investment and also the impact of recent cold weather. My office has reported the hundreds of potholes you have already brought to our attention, please continue to pass these on to us.

“I will also continue to lobby for resurfacing and road improvement schemes in the many areas locally that need them.”
