Carrick man convicted of benefit fraud
A Carrick man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefit to which he was not entitled.
Simon West (26), of Cormorant Park, claimed Carer’s Allowance totalling £7,498 while failing to declare employment.
He was given 140 hours’ community service.
Mr. West is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
Suspected benefit fraud can be reported to the Department for Communities anonymously.
