Carrickfergus College’s long-established rambling club has held its first trip of the new academic year.

Overt 20 pupils left the North Road school for a trek in the picturesque surroundings of the Mourne mountains

“A great day was had by all and it was great to see new ramblers joining the ranks,” the school said in a statement.

“The college value this aspect of their outdoor education programme, the rambles themselves feed into the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and instil a real love of the outdoors in all who attend.”
