An award-winning Carrickfergus firm has picked up a major accolade for operating at the highest level of business performance.

McCue Crafted Fit has been recognised as ‘Gold Standard’ after achieving Deloitte Best Managed Companies accreditation for four sequential years.

Developed in association with Barclays, the programme recognises overall success of the company, management strength, ability to innovate, strategic initiatives and financial performance.

Les McCracken, managing director of McCue Crafted Fit, explains: “For us, achieving Gold Standard is truly an accomplishment. We feel it reflects our company’s culture and ethos as we constantly strive for perfection, pushing ourselves to the highest of standards, ensuring our customers are offered the very best.”

One such Gold Standard project was at the flagship Lush store on Oxford Street, London. The fit out won McCue both The ISG UK Retail Interior of the Year and Non-Food Design of the Year at the ISG UK Retail Week Interiors Awards 2015. More recently, McCue added a ‘scented cinema’ in the store, offering a new sensory experience for cinema goers.

“The Deloitte Best Managed programme highlights Irish international corporate success, which is something that all entrants aspire to emulate and with only 20 winners picked each year, competition for Best Managed recognition is fierce as the awards serve companies across Ireland.

“The Best Managed programme has been an excellent tool for our business and has guided us in various ways. It has helped us focus on our core vision, increase stakeholder value and to strive for excellence in all aspects of the business,” continued Les.

The Sloefield Drive-based organisation is a specialist in high quality refurbishment and fitting out with over 60 years’ experience in the industry. Previous projects across Ireland include The Dean Hotel, Dublin, Arthur Cox, Belfast, Kua Aina, Belfast, Perch Rooftop Bar, Belfast, The Ulster Hospital, Dundonald and The Merchant Hotel, Belfast. Other recent schemes include the Shangri-La Suite in The Shard, London, as well as work on Claridges and the Savoy. In addition, McCue Marine has just won a major contract with Cunard’s Queen Mary 2.
