Carrickfergus children have taken part in an initiative to promote a better understanding of other cultures amongst young people.
Pupils from Sunnylands Primary School were among over 120 participants in the ‘Around the World in Story Tales’ programme at W5, Belfast.
Aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils, the event promoted the importance of building an international dimension into the education of young people across the province.
With support from the Department of Education Northern Ireland and British Council Northern Ireland, ‘Around the World in Story Tales’ incorporated a unique series of events which used literacy and drama.
The programme paired each school to a country as well as the British Council language assistant who help them to discover more about their link through storytelling, art, music, food and clothes.
