Paul’s sons, Peter, Adam and David, have started an online fundraising effort in a bid to get their dad’s body home.

David said: “My dad has passed away after taking a heart attack on holiday in Spain. Unfortunately my mum and dad forgot to take travel insurance before they went.

“I am setting this up to help raise funds to get my dad home and to help towards funeral costs. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.”

Urging the community to support the fundraising effort, the Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr Cheryl Johnston, said: “I would ask anyone, no matter how small to help the family bring their father home.
