Could you be a '˜Friend of Bashfordsland Wood & Oakfield Glen'?

The '˜Friends of Bashfordsland Wood & Oakfield Glen' met in the woods most recently to create a glade by thinning trees with help and support from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, the Conservation Volunteers and the Woodland Trust.

The work is aimed at creating a different habitat and encourage more diverse wildlife into the area.

Tree thinning also benefits the surrounding trees as these will have more space and more light to grow.

The ‘Friends’ Group are always interested in welcoming new members.

Anyone interested in getting outdoors, learning new skills and meeting like-minded people are encouraged to join their volunteers who meet every second Saturday at 10am at Oakfield Community Centre.

As events are outdoor, suitable clothing and footwear is required to be worn.

Also, any children who attend must be accompanied by an adult.
