£175,000 upgrade for Eden playground

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has announced plans to allocate £175,000 to the refurbishment of Eden Play Park, in Carrick.

The announcement has been welcomed by Cllr. Cheryl Johnston, Chair of Council’s Direct Services Committee.

Cllr. Johnston said: “As a council we are committed to the continual improvement of our borough’s infrastructure and I am delighted council members have agreed to revamp Eden Play Park.

“This refurbishment, which is currently within the grounds of Eden Primary School, will further enhance its current offerings giving young people a safe play area that they can enjoy.

“The proposal is for council to expand the facility by providing new equipment suitable for a wider range of children.

“The school would have exclusive use of the park during school hours with the park open to the public thereafter. The council will also work in partnership with the school in relation to ongoing maintenance, cleanings and inspections.”
