Seapark AC runners who competed in Gosford 10k. INLT 06-904-CON

Seven SEAPARK Athletic Club runners took part in ‘Born 2 Run’ Gosford 10k event on Saturday.

The event was postponed from 19 January, but perfect weather conditions ensured all runners were in high spirits at the start line.

Set in the stunning location of Gosford Forest Park, Markethill, the 10k course took in road, trail and forest and was another great success for ‘Born 2 Run’ .

Seapark runners achieved great results with Bobbie Irvine first home for the club in a fantastic time of 42:57 to secure third place in the M45 category. Next across the line, and making his Seapark AC debut, was Aubrey McCoubrey, finishing in a commendable 47:19, closely followed by Mark Welsh in 47:35. Rob Gordon crossed the line in 48:10, with Lynsey Grant and Gillian Grant completing the course in times of 51:58 and 55:02, respectively. Karen Poag (59:36) joined by husband Phil, new to the running field, in an impressive first time 10k of 59:37.

All runners thoroughly enjoyed the course and achieved fantastic results.

Seapark AC meets Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at Carrick Cricket Club, Middle Road, Carrickfegus. Runners of all abilities are invited to come along and will be made very welcome. For further information check out the club’s pages on www.seaparkac.com
