• Seapark AC

Gary Connolly and Gillian Barnhill ran four marathons each from July 9-12.

Avondale quad results: Gary Connolly 3:50, 4:27, 4:32, 3:52; Gillian Barnhill 3:38, 3:40, 3:41, 3:47.

On July 12 at the Moffat 15K, Seapark was represented by both Karen Poag (1:24) and Phil Poag (1:23).

At the Born2Run Sea2Sky 10K in Newcastle on July 15, Seapark had 12 members taking part.

Gillian Barnhill 47:09, Bobbie Irvine 47:42, Thomas Dunlop 57:52, Nicola Irvine 1:01:40, Jacqui Coghlan 1:04:29, Julie Marshall 1:04:33, Karen Waring 1:04:36, Nicola Dunlop 1:08:15, Marie Nicholson 1:08:53, Jenny Robinson 1:14:47, Caroline Mone 1:18:17 and Gary Connolly (walking) 1:54:33.

• Larne Junior parkrun

A total of 51 runners and a 15 newcomers joined in the event at the weekend.

A big junior parkrun welcome to Rory Hughes, Sam Caldwell, Jack Morrow, Jack Ryan, Cerys Moore, Roma Matebalavu, Jamie Rea, Eva Moore, Sereana Matebalavu, Karen Wilson, Sonny Hagan Hunter, Emily Hughes, Emma Robinson, Lucy Robinson and Evie Caldwell.

There were also four speedies who achieved personal bests; Ayinta Russell, Christopher Shaw, Joel Shaw and Lola Hogg.

Male placings: Jack Hastings (JM10) of Larne AC, was first (third overall) over the line in 08:52 – first time in 16 appearances

Oisin McAllister (JM10) (unattached) was second (4th overall) in 09:17 – was first to finish once before

Sam Caldwell (JM11-14) (unattached) was third (5th overall) in 09:26.

Female placings: Bradie Hogg (JW11-14) of East Coast Athletic Club, was first (first overall) to cross the line in 07:39 - 15th time in 18 appearances.

Jessica McClements (JW11-14) of East Coast Athletic Club, was second (second overall) over the line in 07:59 - has been first to finish on four previous occasions.

Lola Hogg (JW10) of East Coast Athletic Club, was third (7th overall) over the line in 09:29.

The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores: Bradie Hogg (JW11-14) was graded 78.75 per cent for the time 07:39 (first overall).

Jessica McClements (JW11-14) was graded 71.26 per cent for the time 07:59 (second overall).

Oisin McAllister (JM10) was graded 70.13 per cent for the time 09:17 (4th overall).

Larne junior parkrun was established on November 22, 2015, and since then 289 different runners, including participants from 10 athletics clubs, have completed 1,855 runs covering a total distance of 3,710 km.

The female record is held by Eimear McBrien who ran in a time of 00:07:30.

The male record is held by Connor McRandal, who ran in a time of 00:07:19.

The Age Grade course record is held by Bradie Hogg who recorded a 78.75 per cent run (07:39).

• North Belfast Harriers

Over 60 members of North Belfast Harriers enjoyed the Larne parkrun at the weekend.

1st finisher Davy Clarke 18.22; 6th finisher Penny Lindsay 21.50; 11th finisher Janice Plumb 22.12; 16th finisher Carol Clarke 22.54; 23rd finisher Trisha Campbell 24.18; 24th finisher Sandy Plumb 24.37; 32nd finisher Bernadette Campbell 26.49; 60th finisher John Steele 36.24.

• East Coast AC

This weekend will see East Coast AC members take on an exciting challenge for local charity PIPS Suicide Prevention Larne.

Members of the club will commence a 24 hour sponsored run from 6pm on Friday July 22 until 6pm on Saturday, July 23.

The run will take place within the confines of Sandy Bay, Larne and will see at least four club members running at any one time – furthermore, club officials have issued an open invitation for anyone to come along and run the last hour from 5pm-6pm on Saturday.

As part of the event, the club’s junior members will complete their own half marathon and marathon relay runs, where the up and coming stars will complete 400m or 800m distances; in-turn this will build towards the accumulative distance of 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles respectively.

The junior event is scheduled to take place between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday, July 23.

The event will finish off with the club’s annual summer barbecue. Tickets for the event are priced at £5 per person.

East Coast AC would encourage everyone to come along and support the runners as they raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
