Motorcycle Show a success, says organiser Nutt

The first Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival to be held at the new Eikon Exhibition Centre was a gamble for father-and-son duo Billy and Marty Nutt, but it turned out to be a fantastic success with bike fans turning up in their droves.

They enjoyed viewing the latest bikes and chatting to the many racing stars led by racing legend, Carl Fogarty.

And the supermoto and demonstration laps by Michael Dunlop in his Mark2 Ford Escort rally car added that bit extra to a brilliant show.

Sunday’s supermoto racing saw Alan Morgan winning the David Jefferies memorial race while David McKee took the prestige class. Scott Brown was the clubman’s winner with Baylon McCaughy, taking part in his final supermoto race, winning the production class.

Promoter Billy Nutt said: “Considering six months ago there was absolutely nothing on the site for the show, the event turned out fantastic.

“Crowds were well up on previous shows and everyone seemed happy with the way things turned out. There was the odd hiccup that we will sort out for next year, but the whole event certainly worked way beyond our expectations.

“Our special guest, Carl Fogarty, was delighted to return to Northern Ireland for the first time in ages and the fans certainly enjoyed chatting with him. We were delighted with the show and would like to thank the public for supporting us.”
