The club will now take a few weeks break due to several different international competitions to be held in Wales. With Home Internationals, the British Open and World and European Championships to take place the next shooting at Rathfriland will see 20-bird competition resume on Thursday August 1, commencing from 6pm onwards. Shooters are also reminded of the DTL taking place at Mourne Gun Club this Saturday July 14.
The selection process for the Northern Ireland team for these competitions has been on-going for several months and there are numerous familiar names among the line-up.
Local shooters including Aaron Smyth, Enoch McCauley, Hugh Ervine, Ronald Sloan and Gordon McDowell are yet again involved in team competition while Rathfriland shooters Gary Laffin and David Graham will be making their debuts for the team, qualifying for the squad for the first time.
