AFC CARRICK 1

RATHCOOLE FC 4

Junior Division Three: Rathcoole had the best of the attacking play in the first session and went in three goals to the good at the break courtesy of Keith McManus, Glenn McCord and Mark Kidd. AFC missed from the penalty spot before Gareth Bond made it four for Rathcoole. AFC never gave up, but it was late in the game when Michael Deignan netted a consolation goal. Referee: Mr. Greg McClean

YORK ROAD LOUGHSIDE 2

1ST CARRICKFERGUS OB 0

York Road had to wait until the 74th minute to get their noses in front and it was Peter Sargent who popped up with the opener. Carrickfergus had to chase the game, but Phil Dodds headed home six minutes from time to secure the win. Referee: Mr. Steven Higgins.

REMO FC 3

CARRICKFERGUS YC 3

An Andrew McDonagh goal gave Carrick the edge at the break before Remo equalised early in the second half.

Jonny Robb netted to put the visitors back in front, but back came Remo to level the match again. Robb fired in his second goal to put his side ahead for a third time but Remo hit back again to claim a point. Referee: Mr. Bert Purdy.

Welshman Cup R1: Woodlands’ cup journey was short-lived as strikes from Cookstown’s Ashley Gregory, Craig Martin and Ally Young saw them progress. Thomas Ogilvie netted what proved to be a consolation for the Carrick men. Referee: Mr. Jackie Young.
