Greenisland Under-11s all set for a big trip to Scotland

Greenisland FC’s Under-11s are set to travel to Ayr today (April 4) to compete in a fun-filled weekend at the ESF Festival at Craig Tara.

The squad will cross on the ferry to Scotland, accompanied by parents and three of the teams coaching staff.

In total, there is a party of 39 travelling in what has become a highly-anticipated weekend for the all involved.

Greenisland have entered two sides which will compete in seven-a-side format round-robin tournament against some Scottish teams, as well as clubs from Northern Ireland.

Each team will play eight matches: Greenisland FC have drawn the likes of St Mirren YFC, Kilmarnock Portland, Blantyre SA, Glenrothes Strollers, Bridgewater BC, Rothes Juniors, Airdrie YC, Newbuildings United, Dungiven Celtic, Castle Juniors and Hillsborough Juniors.

The team are very excited about getting away together and showcasing their ability the ‘Greenisland Way’.

Meanwhile, the countdown is well and truly on as Greenisland’s under-10s and under-12s prepare for the trip of a lifetimes to take on the mighty Real Madrid over the Easter Holidays.
