Double success for Colts teams

Carrick Colts Under-12s bagged a 5-3 win over Lisburn Rangers on Saturday.

The match got off to the worst possible start for the Colts when they conceded a sloppy goal in the first minute.

That disappointment was soon scratched out when a stunning shot from Brady Anett levelled matters with 10 minutes on the clock.

Five minutes later Brady beat the keeper with a sublime chip to put the Colts in the lead.

Further chances from Kyle King and Ryan Black came and went as the Colts finised the half as comfortable leaders at 2-1.

Rangers came out fired up after the break and left the Colts with work to do when they netted twice in the first five minutes.

However, a wonderful pass from Annet allowed King to level.

Carrick Rangers Colts remain in second position after a 5-1 win over Hillsborough in the Lisburn Invitational Youth League.

A well-worked corner involving Owens and Cowan created the opening goal for Gardiner at the back post.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0 as Owens tapped in after the keeper parried Magill’s in initial drive. Hillsborough pulled one back to leave the score at 2-1 at the half-time whistle.

The Hillsborough keeper’s wayward goal-kickfound Magill whose instant control and a delightful pass allowed Adams to chip the keeper, making it 4-1.
