David McAlinden is banking on growing on-pitch partnerships turning into off-field points gains for Carrick Rangers.

McAlinden has steered his spirited squad to back-to-back points after defeat on the opening day to defending league champions Linfield.

Small steps have provided positives but the driven McAlinden remains determined to raise levels.

“We can be content but must also look at two points from a possible nine,” said McAlinden. “Over time those partnerships can improve us between a point and a win, it only takes a player to know to make his run a split-second sooner and that he will be found by a team-mate.”

Carrick Rangers welcome Ballinamallard United tonight.
