President of Ballycarry WI, Maybeth McQuitty, welcomed everyone to the November meeting.

Alison Russell accepted a cheque to Thornfield House School, Jordanstown, for £610 and she thanked the ladies for their generous support in raising this sum of money.

There then followed a presentation of honorary membership to Isobel Nelson, a very popular member of the branch, who has taken an active role in WI work over many years.

Special uest for the evening, Michelle Mairs from Mulberry Cottage Crafts then organised a brooch-making activity for the ladies, with everyone producing brooches or Christmas decorations to take home.

The winners of the monthly competition - ‘my favourite brooch’ - were: 1. Muriel Andrews, 2. Molly Scott, 3. Mary Brennan.
