Man dies following crash involving car and lorry near Castledawson

A man has died following a crash involving a car and lorry on the Hillhead Road near Castledawson.

The collision occurred at around 12:40pm on Monday. Emergency services attended and sadly, the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been named as Jimmy Mullan, aged in his 60s.

Police are appealing to anyone who was travelling on Moyola Road or Hillhead Road and witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 843 of 27/02/23.
