Three fire crews attended Whitehead collision

A motorist had to be cut free from his car following a road traffic accident at Belfast Road in Whitehead on Sunday.

A 37-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the one-vehicle collision which occurred during the early hours of the morning.

Fire fighters had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to free the driver from his vehicle.

He received oxygen therapy from the Fire and Rescue Service at the scene before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

Fire crews from Whitehead, Larne and Carrickfergus stations attended the incident.

The accident occurred at the junction with Raw Brae Road.
