An ex-Downshire School pupil has taken centre stage at the annual Belfast Tattoo.

Running at the SSE Arena (August 31 - September 2), the headline performers are The Band Of The Royal Air Force College, under the direction of Squadron Leader Richard Murray, formerly of Carrickfergus.

Now firmly established as one of the biggest events to come to the city every year, the Tattoo draws people from across the province, and its overseas visitors are also growing year on year.

The 2017 Belfast Tattoo also sees the start of the RAF centenary celebrations in the UK.
