Police medal stolen during Greenisland burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary of a house at Upper Station Road Greenisland.

It was reported that sometime between 12pm on 2pm on Wednesday October 11, entry was gained to the premises and a number of items were stolen.

The items taken included a Royal Irish Constabulary medal which had been awarded to Head Constable James McKeown and has particular sentimental value to the victim and their family.

The medal is inscribed with his details on the rim.

Police are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident, or anyone who may be offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances, to contact detectives at Ballymena police station on 101 quoting 694 11/1017.
